Free Blown Glass Owl Head Christmas Ornament Scary Eyes Annealed Horns and Beak Germany 1920s

Striking and unusual free blown glass owl ornament with scary eyes and long curved beak. Circa 1920s Germany. Here we have a harder to find sculptural glass owl head ornament. It is so unique with large indented orange-red eyes, a large curved red beak, and long black pointed ears. The beak and ears are expertly annealed with another annealed finial on the bottom. The eyes are so expressive. He measures 2.5 inches tall and 2 inches wide. The pike is tall and is topped with an unmarked Lauscha style cap. It is in very good antique condition, free of chips, cracks, or silvering loss. There is a chip on the pike which the cap mostly covers. These free blown ornaments are very collectible due to the time consuming process and their fragile nature. The ornament is free blown by the glassblower from a tube of super thin glass, each one a true one-of-a-kind art piece. Additional parts are attached by hand via the annealing process.
